Luckily, no one was there for the weather, but the fun and results of getting over 900 industry professionals together. Best practices and Budweiser products were shared by all, the group got behind-the-scenes tours of LAFC’s BMO Stadium and SoFi Stadium while NSF brought in celebrities like Will Ferrell, Craig Robinson (aka Darrell from The Office) and T.J. Miller for entertainment.
By NSF mandate, Trak was not allowed to go for a third title and participate in a highly competitive 2023 Tech Tank :(.
Congratulations to the winner in Trajektory and each presenting company!
This year, Trak served as presenting sponsor of the Corporate Partnership & Brand Activation Workshop, a standing-room-only breakout led by Brian Richeson from the Tampa Bay Rays and Sean O’Hara from Legends.
From the Trak team, CEO Cameron Oliver led the introduction and CRO Charles Reynolds led the panel Q&A (aka Chip, who was later recognized for an NSF award during the ceremony at SoFi Stadium).
Trak presented around a theme of #SponsorshipsWork, why they’re important for brand marketing leaders, and some alignment, insights and tactical strategies:
“What Trak allowed us to do was to take our way of modeling things to the next level. We sat down and came up with a list of the top ten things that we are looking for in a partner… We prioritize and weigh them…and we score every one of our partners and then go back to our account reps and discuss the scores and levels of performance and relate it to cost… If it’s a collaborative piece, it’s not something they have to wait to see… We don’t want to hide it or wait until renewal and miss half the season, we want it to be as real-time as possible.”
“1) Be curious, always ask questions… Answer a question with a question…Ask questions with your partners, understand what’s the vibe, how has it shifted, evolved and changed? What’s working or isn’t working so we can continue to improve. Not just having the end of the year proof-of-performance isn’t going to work and is not going to be successful. Find ways to be proactive and not reactive…Creating efficiencies internally, getting rid of all the spreadsheets, getting rid of the ‘can you send me that one email, wait I don’t have that.’ There are so many ways to streamline that…Lastly, have fun!”
Outside of the panel, the Trak team enjoyed a fantastic slate of relevant content across the sessions and had a visible exhibition location to chat with its many customers, friends and cohorts in the space.
The Trak team gave away some premium watches based on engagement and playing into the “Trak saves you time” theme (47% time savings per average user in 2021).
The bar has been set very high for NSF in Pittsburgh for next year and we can’t wait to catch up with the NSF community in the “city of champions!”
